Lead in water remains a major news story around the US. Most recently, Newark has dominated headlines, experiencing its own crisis - state regulations requiring lead testing in schools and childcare facilities continue to expose a systematic problem. In recent years, it’s become clear that lead isn’t the only contaminate that poses a threat. Emerging research on factors such as Legionella–a recent outbreak in an Atlanta Sheraton hotel led to 12 confirmed cases and one fatality–is bringing a more holistic view of water management (water quality & quantity) into focus.
