Your go-to resource for water program management.
Lead in water remains a major news story around the US. Since Flint, a spotlight has been shone on how lead in the water of schools, daycares, and other facilities affects the most vulnerable populations. Most recently, Newark has dominated headlines, experiencing its own crisis - state regulations requiring lead testing in schools and childcare facilities continue to expose a systematic problem. In recent years, it’s become clear that lead isn’t the only contaminate that poses a threat. Emerging research on factors such as Legionella–a recent outbreak in an Atlanta Sheraton hotel led to 12 confirmed cases and one fatality–is bringing a more holistic view of water management (water quality & quantity) into focus.
As facilities work to keep up with planning, monitoring, and communicating their water programs to proactively address contaminants, it can feel like you’re scrambling to keep up with changing regulations and emerging threats. Failing to think proactively and holistically about water management can not only impact the health of those that are consuming water in your facilities, but also your customers’ trust and your brand as a whole.
We’ve put together this eBook to outline some best practices to help make managing water management programs easier. We focus on Lead, Legionella, Water Usage, and running a holistic program. The hope is that this resource can serve as a guide and a playbook for those tasked with running these programs in facilities - large buildings that provide water to the public, especially to at-risk populations such as children, the elderly, or individuals with suppressed immune systems. Schools, childcare facilities, hospital buildings, retirement homes, hotels, universities, and large apartment complexes are all facilities that should be considering holistic water management programs - our goal is to make your lives easier as you focus on the complex and important task of managing that water quality.
